Halloween night. Laurel was VERY proud of her "sleeping beauty" princess dress.

White House Carnival

Laurel as Dorothy at St Marks Halloween carnival...toto is sitting in her lap. (Anderson is the zebra beside her)Laurel was at the "snack station" and Mommy was working the station next to it (secretly snapping photos). When I am volunteering or attending events at her school I tend to be ignored (already). I think she is afraid I'm going to make her go home. Oh well, I will enjoy the time that she actually loves school!

Pumpkin shine on Line (AVENUE)

Pumpkin shine on Line was a couple of weeks ago, but my camera has been MIA (hidden in a secret pocket in the diaper bag so I wouldn't lose it...hahahaha) for that long. We went to the event for the first time and were overwhelmed with how busy it was and a severe lack of parking, so it was a bit crazy walking to our car with Laurel very upset because we didn't meet up with Eliza and Cade upset because he was hungry. So naturally, we were stressed that night and forgotwhere we put the camera. I was carrying it around in the diaper bag the entire time. Whew! I'm just happy that I found it this morning. Lucky you, we have pictures from the event!Next year we will go MUCH earlier. I feel sorry for the people who tried to go anytime after 6.

After the flu shot

I pulled into the garage just chatting away to Laurel, I heard no response to my question and looked back to see this precious face. I ran in to get the camera, and prayed for her to stay asleep while I captured this rare moment! She and Cade were fast asleep. We are extremely blessed.

We arrived home from Cade's 4 month shots and Laurel's flu shot..

Poor guy! He was sooo upset with the nurse. Kerry was out of town and I had to watch the nurse give Cade four shots and Laurel one. I used to make Kerry AND my Mom go, but I thought i was brave enough to handle it by myself this time. UGH!

What happens in Preschool.....

EATING LUNCH AFTER SCARECROW DAY!

Aunt Patsy (Kerry's sister) sent Laurel this great shirt..."What happens in Preschool stays in Preschool"! This is so funny to us because we have a very hard time getting her to tell us what happened in school each day! Thanks Patsy! Laurel is FINALLY going poo poo in the potty consistently. We are giving her two dollars a visit so that she can buy Sleeping Beauty when she has enough. Who knew a disney character was the key?

Be your favorite Scarecrow day at St Marks

Laurel was the cutest scarecrow ever at school today! She couldn't wait to wear the hat I made , but when I picked her up she was sad because she said she could not "run fast enough on the playground" in the overalls! The giraffe is holding a purse that says "let's shop". Last year she would not wear costumes so I am looking forward to this halloween!

On the menu: PEAS. He did a great job eating! He loves whatever you put in front of him. We started with rice cereal, and he likes to act like he is a fish and the spoon is the worm! I think he gets his humor from my Dad!

Laurel and Eliza at a birthday party at Jill's Gymnastics. Eliza is Laurel's buddy at school. They are so cute together (they have a cute little squeal when they see each other). I went to pick Laurel up early one day and they were swinging upside down. What a memory, because I had just bought Laurel a dress with three little girls upside down. It is called "silly girls". Eliza and Laurel are only a few days apart in age.

Hurricane party at our house! WOO HOO! The Chauvin family has joined us from New Orleans. So far, we have shopped and gone out to eat, I wanted to post this before we couldn't use the internet anymore. Laurel is enjoying Emily and Isabel. She's having a blast playing outside and watching movies with other kids. We are boring parents! (I guess?)

Laurel's first day at PRESCHOOL! August 14,2008

Laurel and Mommy at the "White House" (St Mark's Cathedral School Preschool building) Laurel's first day of preschool! PREK3 Can you tell she's a little nervous? Taken this morning! August 14,2008. As I was driving her to school, the DJ's wife on KLOVE was taking their child to her first day at kindergarten and they were kind enough to play that sappy "Cinderella" song by Stephen Curtis Chapman. I don't know if you have ever heard it, if not pull it up on google and listen to it and you'll understand my tears and laughter all at the same time. Laurel just so happens to be in love with Cinderella at the moment and naturally loves the song. I was laughing at the DJ because she had to have her friend meet her at the school to get her through it, and because they were having a "boo hoo breakfast" after they dropped off the kids. I'm new to all of this so it was quite comical and I was able to get through it easier because of listening to their story while crying to "Cinderella". Laurel, still nervous, before we go in to her class.

Uncle Bill and Sis came in from San Antonio to see us. We went to dinner at Joe's Crabshack (one of Sis' faves) and I breastfed Cade for the first time in public. Why is this important? Because I tried there for the first time with Laurel too, unsuccessfully. However, now they have come out with a wonderful product called a "hooter hider" (a nursing cover..look it up and buy one as a gift for anyone you know that intends to breastfeed. SHE will LOVE you for it!) and I was able to discreetly feed Cade. Why couldn't I come up with that?
